COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) CITIZEN
ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CAC) RECRUITMENT PROCESS
This is an informational report and no Council action is required.
BACKGROUND
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Citizen Participation Plan (Plan) was
adopted by City Council on December 13, 1993.- The Plan calls for a nine-member Citizen
Advisory Committee (CAC) tcr-encourage citizen participation in the development,
implementation and assessment of the CDBG program. CAC members are advisory to staff
on the expenditure of CDBG funds and the CDBG process.
DISCUSSION
The Planning Division is now recruiting six new members for the 1999 CAC to fill the
available slots. Committee members will be appointed by the Mayor to two year terms. The
majority of CAC meetings will be held on either Tuesday or Thursday evenings during the
months of January, February and March. Applicants must live or work in Palo Alto. Those
who are, or who advocate for, persons of low and moderate income, persons with disabilities,
members of minority groups, or the elderly are encouraged to apply.
Applications are now available at the Planning Division counter on the 5th floor of City Hall,
and will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on November 30, 1998.
