The City Attorney advised that while t._e claim was not a legal claim against the City, the Council could legally make such an appropriation. On motion of Jordan and Peterson the appropriation was made as recommended by unanimous vote on roll call. Report on I. roverr:erts : Tabled. Committee #1 made a report in the natter of a.. report of a special committee on the proposed improveent of 7jniversity Avenue recommending said improvements, but disapproving the sug- gestion that the entire cost of such imp roveren is be raised by' a bond issue. On motion of Jordan and Cooley the report was laid on the table. Leases of Gil Service Stations AA2rovec.. Chairman Cooley of Committee #1 reported that a read- justment of the leases of land for a service station to the Stand- ard Oil Company at a monthly rental had beer. arranged, and that the lease to the Shell Company would doubtless be arranged at the same rental. On motion of Peterson and Terwilliger the report was ap- proved and the renewal of said leases for one year authorized at a rental of X75.00 per month each. Reports Received.
