The petition from the Board of Education was read and a
letter from persons protesting against the change was filed.
The resolution passed by the City Planning Commission
stating that the Commission would recommend the changes asked
when and if bonds are voted and the property purchased for school
purposes, and suggesting that the purchase of Blocks 101 to 108
inclusive be considered in lieu of Block 100a, for school and
playground purposes.
Cathcart mo d that the suggestion in so far as it re-
lates to playgrounds be referred to Committee #4 and the City
Planning Commission. The motion was seconded by Jordan and passed.

A resolution, entitled 04Reso?ution on Petition of the
Board of Education of the City of Palo Alto to Re-classify the
Easterly Half of Block 100 and the Northeasterly Quarter of Bice:
No. 43 into Class Four of the Zone Ordinance of the City of
Alto, was introduced and read and on motion of Thoits and Ter-
williger was passed by unanimous vote on roll call.
