The Mayor stated that.. it was/in order to cons .der the re- port of Committee #1 _:oza' ecommenciati on of the Board' of Public. Works that bids received; by the Counoii ,'on March: 14, 1921, and re- ferred to the Board ,of 7i.iijolic Works,for street paving under Reso- lution, of Intention,: Series 1, 1;920,.; ordering work ;done, and, Reso- nation or Intention, .`.Series 2, 1921, ordering work done, be reject- ed. A corasoroication .was: read from the Federal Construction Company, asking that said company be allowed to withdraw its bid. The City Cler . read. the report of Co tree #1, said report concurring in' the recommendation of said. Board that all of said aids be reiscted:e and further recoxrnnending, that in the event of street paving being_:doneby the city pavearients be of cement con- crete, provided that it is found by the Engineer that pave ..ents of reduced thickness ; can be laid to advantage on streets where a light -1 er pavement would :meet the'requirements. 0n motion. of Wing, seconded by Roller, the report of .Core- mittee #1 was approved. A resolution, entitled "Resolution of the Council of the City of Palo Alto .Rejecting all Bids for Street stork," was intro- duced and read and. on Motion of 3ertsche, secor dea by Wing: was passed by unanimous vote on roll call. On motion of Cooley,, seconded by Easter day, Co=ittee #4, the City:Engineer and ,the : City Attorney, were instructed to- work out a plan whereby .paving may be done by the City.
