Cathcart, Cooley, Laustei, Wing. minutes of the meeting of July lst were read and read. Standard.; Oil ;omtu y Reouest. A request was received from the Standard Qi 1 Company for permission to erect a sin on the City land between University Avenue and the Creek. ` On motion of Hobart and Jordan the matter was, referred to the Mayor. of Corn ittees. A report mss;:: received from Committee #3 suggesting: 1 t . if tBamilton :Avenue is to be widened the rebuilding of the Library entr ante be done according to plars of the Library Board: (2): .That 12 feet- -frontage on. Hamilton Avenue adjoining the Library 1et._be purchased-; (3) And that the cost of rebuilding the `Z,ibrary entran,ee: be included in the cost of improving Hamilton . vemze .and be assessed ag air t the property included within the assessment district.. Committee, #1 presented a verbal report approving the widening of Ramil:ton Avenue. Resolution of. Intention: Passed. A Resolution of Intention, #1 of series, relating to the widenlng .of : 'Hamilton Avenue, was given a second reading and on motion. of Hobart and Mendenhall was passed by unanimous vote or roll ; call. Initial Premiom °Ordered Paid., On motion of Corbet and Bertsche it was ordered that a warrant be drawnin, favor of the State Compensation Insurance and in the sum of $1628.17 in payment of the Initial premiom :,k the policy issued by that Company. The matter of investigating the feasibility of the City carrying its own insurance was referred to Committee #4. The report of the Auditor for the month of June was received and ordered filed. The < Attorney reported that the deeds hadbeen recorded in. exchange for the ;property between the City and Of Cerro. D. lCraneton and Jessie . S uth, and that the preceedings in. the readjustments of the Dixon bequest to the City were nearly completed. A resalation relating to the Dixon matter was referred to CoMmittees .. Count 1 City o C. Clay Miller received 8 votes and �. H. Christensen 2 Votes. The mayor declared Mr. Miller elected.
