session on this date at 8 p.m.. with.Ilayor Cathcart presidlag. Po11
call as follows:.
Present: Bertsohe Catheart, r' sterday, Bare, Hobart,
Jordan,-l.austen, Uemdenhall, Thoits, Wing.
Absent
Boller, Terwilliger.
The minutes - .O the meetings of March 12th and 20th and
Apr' 3., 1925, were approved as -read.

A report was :reoeived from the Board of Public. Works on
.the bid of the Palo Alto l7evelopMent' Company for constructing side-
walks, curbs and` pavefent8' in "' 31ock 4.: (Said bid having' been
referred from tale ,Council.) reaormmending that said bid be accepted
and the award of`eontrac:t made,,.
On motion of Th.oite'- and Wing the report was received and
action on the award cif;-contrae:t delayed to a :Later meeting.
The matter of an .,agreement with said company to

Ordina,nae. #261, entitled"An Ordinance Amending Sections
3 to 6 inclusive o± .AArtiale' of Part:- III of Codified Ordinance
No. 1 of the City of . Palo Alto" , was read and on motion of
;pster4ay and Bertsche was ; passed . as an emergency ordinance, by
unanimous vote on ro11 call. Said ordinance prohibits minors
from being in billiard halls and bowling alleys.

A resolution, entitled "ResOl tion of intention, No. 1
or series of 1923, under Stress Opening .Act of 1889", was in-
troduced and read. ' Said:✓reso;lution creates an assessment district
-'or widening Channing Avenue: from G 1nda Street to Newell 'Road.

zi.tted with said resolution.
On motion of Ihoits and 4inp said snap was adopted.
On motion of Wing -and Bertsche said resolution of
