The Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date at $ Z7.. m. , pursuant to adjournment of August 10, 1925, tith Mayor Jordan presiding. Roll call as follows: Present,. Contracts . ;tarded On recommendation of the Board of Public Works, the contract, for the improvement of University Avenue was awarded to the 'Warren Confetruct5oh" Company of Oakland at .their bid of 75,610.32. R-esolu;tion No. 430 awarding this contract was adopted ,by unanimous vote on roll call. In accordance with the recommendation of the Board of Public Worke, the contract for storm water sewers was awarded to W. 3 Tobin, at his bid of 421, 787.35, and by unanimous vote on roll elan, resolution Ivo. 431 awarding said contract was adopted. The City Attorney was directed to prepare the necessary papers. As to Renaming Streets The City Planning Commission was requested by Council/to consider the question of renaming certain streets in Mayfield and to report as soon as possible to the Council. The Council requested. the Board of Public Safety to submit a budget for the establishment and maintenance of a public pound. Concerning 'olice Headouarters Mr. Seale also addressed. the Council on the matter and need of police headquarters and an improved jail.
