June 8, 1925.
The Councilof the City of Palo Alto met in
regular session : `on:this date at 8 p. m., with Mayor Cottrell
presiding.- Roll call as follows:
resent:Bertsche, Blair, Cathcart, Cottrell, Duveneck,
Easterday, Hobart, Jordan, Leusten, Mendenhall,
Bonn, Thoits, Wing.
Williams.
The minutes :af the meetings of May llo May 25 and
June :I,, 1925 were read. ' The minutes of May 25th referring to
adjournment to lute 1St, 1925 were corrected to read "when the
Council adjourn it adjourn to meet on June lst at 8 p. m. at
the:C Hall.". The minutes of June 1, 1925 referring to the
appropriation of 4300 for,.cloth for policemen's uniforms were
corrected to show that this amount of 4300 is to be paid back
to the:city by the policemen. As thus corrected the minutes
were approved.
Letter from the State Compensation Ins. Fund.
A letter eras received from the State Compensation
Insurance Fund advising that the present policy will expire on
June 30, 1925, and.; encclosing a binder extending the coverage
for a ttxm of twenty days,and also enclosing a bill for the
renewal premium.. -Oa-motion of Thoits and Wing, this letter
was referred to Committee No. 4 for study and report.

of Assessments (Charming Ave.)
Upon the recommendation of the Board of Public
Works, the City Attorney and Engineer were authorized to issue
a blanket :release, of assessments which nave been paid in
connection with the widening of Charming Avenue, by motion of
Wing and' Tbo i t s .
Plans for RepavinK University Ave.
A report was received from the Board of Public
Works submitting the plans and specifications for storm water
drains and for the re -paving of University Avenue and recommend-
ing that same be adopted. On motion of Thoits and Bertsche
tnis was referred to Committee No. I.
44114 (Grade Crossin ; ) Passed
Onpotion of Jordan and Lausten, Resolution No.
relating `to the grade crossing at Palo Alto Avenue and Alma
Street was adopted by unanimous vote on roll call. Said
resolutio � extends the time for maintenance of this grade
for a; period of four years from and after June 30, 1925.
