May 25, 1925, The Council of the City of Palo Alto met in adjourned session on -this date at 8 p. m.„ with Mayor Cottrell presiding. 111 members were present except Cooley. Rearing Report of_ Commissioners (Block 13) The Mayor announced that hearings on the protests against the report of the ' commissioners for opening alleys in Blocks 13 and 21 and widening Bibarcadero Road were in order. Written protests signed by E. W. Orr, John A. Squire, Jennie: L.,karphy, Gee. V. Jensen, Mary A. Allen and Rebecca Y. Dodd against the report for Block 13 were read. The following 'addressed the Council: Mr. John B. Springer, ; counsel for Geo. V. Jensen, Mary A. Allen and Rebecca Y. Dodd; B. 3. Arkush, Mary As Allen, Mrs. Tillie Jensen and E. C. Thoits. By motion of Thoits and Wing the report of the commissioners for the alley in Block la was referred to Committee No. 1 for investigation and report. "Rearing on Alley in Block 21 The report of the commissioners for opening an alley in Block 21 was read. Drs Decker addressed the Council. Cm motion of Thoits and Wing this matter was referred to Committee No. 1 for investigation and report. Report on "i;"denims „mbarcadero Road The report of the commissioners for widening Embaroadera Road was read. There were no protests. This was referred to Committee, No. 1 and the City 'Attorney. Concerning Removal of Railway Tracks The matter of the removal of the tracks of the Peninsular Railway Company from the city was referred to the City Attorney for report and action. Street Work Deferred The street work on Addison, Lincoln and Tennyson Avenues was deferred for further consideration. The following councilmen addressed the Council on this subject: Cathcart, Wing, Thoits, Williams, Hobart, Jordan, It was moved. by Thoits and, Williams as an amend- ment to the previous motion that the City Attorney be also instructed to prepare a ` ordinance providi for the of Mayfield by vote of the Council. Cathcart, Easterday and Thoits addressed the Council. The motion was put carried. The original motion was then put and was acarried. By motion of Hobart and Easter Works, Board of :Safety, the City Planning Commission Board School Department were requested to furnish information to the Council for publication of any matter under thekjurisdiction concerning the annexation of Mayfield.
