Ordnance Sao. 317, providing for a municipal election
• for the : purpose: f electing six councilmen as merrbere. of the
Council of the city of Palo Alto, was considered, and on motion.
of Cooled and Blalr was passed: by.. rmanir ous vote ' on x7o11 call.
The City. Clerk informed the Council that;. tke following
citizens .had been. Dominated for election to the City Council for
the "six year. term. Sanrnel G. Bonn, I. I. Cathcart, • A. C. 1 obart,
Z. C. T Colts. and tirs.. Margaret Thomas, and that the ,following ^.ad
been nominated for the four-year term: W. R. Zelly.
Conce;trine Contracts for Sewers
A letter was •read from the Board. of Public Works
approving the .report of the City Engineer recommending that the
contract 'for the construction of storm water sewers:. be given to
the Oakland Sewer Construction Company, whose bid was the lowest
bid and totaled. 431,356-.26.
The Board of Works also informed the Council that it
had awarded. the: contract for the .construction of sanitary sewers
to the Oakland Sewer Construction Company, whose bid was the
lowest and totaled 423„12Z.64.
Resolution :3.412 Passed.
On motion of Thoite and Easterday, Resolution No. 41.2
awarding thecontract for the construction of stoma water sewers
to the Oakland ;Sewer Construction Company at their bid. of
431,356.26 was passed by unanimous vote o.a roll call.

David le`vans to the effect. that Saturday afternoon airplanes were
flying'low over, the .city which might endanger the city. iris
complaint was referred. to Committee No. 2.

A. letter was read from hiss Susan B. Dy4r resigr.:rg
.er. membership on the Community Center Commission and on the
Advisory Board. on Commercial Amusements, this. being necessitated.
by her leaving :the city for an extended period. On motion of
Cooley and .Bertsche, the resignation was accepted with, the
t ition that a vote of thanks be written to Miss Dyer for er
effiCiCent and devoted 'servides.
