M•, pursuant to adjournment of August 9, 1926, with Mayor Hobart presiding. Roll call as follows: Present: Bertsche, Bonn, Cooley, Duveneck, Easterday, Hobart Jordan, Kelly, Lausten, Thoits, Thomas, Wood. ' Absent: Cathcart, Cottrell, Wing-. Concernir_z ur.icj- i Band. Mr. T. E. Hyde addressed the Council concerning the matter of an appropriation of .1800.00 per year fora municipal band. He stated that Prof. Martin, Director of the Stanford Band, had proposed that the Palo Alto Band wear the same kind of uniforms as the Stanford Band, and that the two bands could practice together and be combined into one large bard on various occasions to represent Palo Alto and Stanford. Mrs. G. Ostrander, Mr. W. L. Peet, kr. Hettinger, :r. McClellan, Director of the band, and others addressed the Council on this matter also. BudxRt for 1940--132'7 ►r. Jordan, Chairman of Committee No. 4, presented the proposed budget for 1926-1927 and explained it in detail. Hyde addressed the Council, expressing the appreciation and thanks of the Matade ro Mosquito Abatement District forthe assistance given them by the city health department.
