June 21, 1926.
The Ccunoil of the City of Palo Alto met on this
date at 8 P. 14., pursuant to adjournment of June 14, 1926, with
M8yor Jordan presiding. X011 call as fellows:
Present: Bertsche, Bonn, Duveneck, Ee.sterday, Jordan,
belly, Thoit a, Thomas.
Absent: Cathcart, Cooley, Cottrell,
Wing, Wood.
Report of Planning Commissi on
The final report of the City Planning Commission
on matters coluterning the extension of use z ones and widening
of pertainstreets was read. A letter from the Palo Alto
Real Estate Board and a minority report from Charles . Sumner,
member of the Planning Commission, on this same, subject were
also read. The Council was addressed on this ratter by
President Peirce of the Pl annn ing Commission.
A resolution fixing date of hearing of final report
on extension of, use zones was read. It was the consensus of
opinion of members of the Council that the recommendations of
the Planning Commission should be given careful consideration,
and. that the various items of the report concerning re -zoning,
with the exception of Nos.3,5 and 6, should be considered during
the summer and set for hearing on 0c to ber 18, 1926, when the
Council meribers who wi11 be away for the summer will have
returned. It was decided that there should be a hearing in the
near fta.ture ,on items No. 3 and No. 6. The City Attorney was
requested to prepare a resolution on Item No. 5.
- It was decided that the portion of the report
relating to street widening should also be deferred with the
exception_'of items No. 10 and No. 11. It was stated that the
procedure in connection with item No. 10 concerning the widening
of Newell Road is already being prepared by the City Attorney.
The City Attorney was requested to prepare a resolution of
intention for item No. 11 on the widening of High Street from
Hawthorne to Addison Avenues.
The resolution fixing date of hearing was referred
back to the City Attorney to be revised and presented at the
next meeting of the Council on June 28, 192Z.
On motion of Thos is and Bonn, the Board of Works
was requested to furnish a report on the statas of each widening
_ procedure that is now unfinished.

Setback Line Yap
The setback line map and ordinance relating to
setback lines were again considered, and laid over until the rest
meeting on June 28, 1926. The Planning Commission was asked to
make certain changes in setback lines on the State Highway.

The City Clerk submitted a report on the hospital
and it was stated that the City Engineer has prepared plans :for
a new hospital which will soon be presented to the Council.

Concerning Renumbering blocks
A report was received from the City Clerk concerning
the renumbering of city blocks and stating that the County
Assessor had informed him that he would be glad to see this done!
and tht the renumbering would be helpful to the county records.:
This matter was referreq to Committee So. 1.
Adjournment to June 28,1926.
On motion of Ber ,tsche and Theits, the Council
adjourned, to meet on Monday, June 28, 1926, in the City Hall,
at 8 P. M.
