Me Council of the City of Palo A1 -.to met in
regular session onthis date at 8 P. M., with Mayor Jordan
presiding. Roll call as follows:

Pecuest of _ L:xbrary Board
A :letter was read from the Library Board recuesti Yg
that they be grafted the use of t ,e old City :dai1 in the
:4ayfield District for library purposes in order to establish a
brancc* library at Mayfield. On motion of Thoits and Cathcart,
the Liorary Board was granted space in the former Mayfield City
Eall for library purposes.

• A letter was read from V. A. Randall stating that
it is desired to use the former Mayfield ield City Rail for a branch
Bost Office. As disposition has already been made of this
property, the..letter was received and placed on file, and the
Clerk was directed to notify Mr. Randall to this effect.

A letter was received from the :ecreation Comte it';€,e
of the .Parent -Teachers Association requesting that the city
co-operate with the school board to open up playgrounds for
children. On motion of Cathcart and stns• aromas, this
communication was referred to Committee Teo. 1 with the su; xest :
that they confer with an authorized committee from the chcol
Board to consider the matter and report back to the Council.

requesting that he be allowed 40.00 a month for four mon Lhs, ,r ,
May, June and July, .for necessary automooile expenses. On
motion of -Wing -and Cooley, this request was granted, tne
necessary appropriation to be mace from the unexpended Jalance
in the contingent fund.

water supply and gas• service for the avenswood District was
read, and on motion of Wing and Cooley was referred to the
City Engineer and Board of 'ublic Works.

methods of assessment and read a letter eicn ne nod written

A report was received from Committee
recommending that ‘.. bridge Avenue be widened to 72 feet, that
California Avenue be. widened to 90 feet, Second Street to 60
feet, and that an. alley be opened in the oloczs lying between
:i Camino :seal, Park.•Boulevard, Cambridge and California ,venues
to the width of 20 feet. .he committee. also recommended that
the ordinance .calling for a special election for issuance of
oonds for extension of the water system be adopted, and that
the Council authorize issuance of warrants for pat ent of
election expenses.

to the Council without recommendation the request of. Mr.. Ray
Holmes for refund of takes due on building which was under
construction bust. not completed on March 1, 1925, as no "hart of
the taxes'have been paid. by ;r. holmes. On motion of.Wing
and Lausten the report. was adopted.

recommending that El Camino Real be widened to a uniform width'
of 90 feet, and also recommending that an r a it, onal 4':300 be
granted for the regional map now being made. 4'

ing of' :1- Camino Real was referred to. committee i.o. 1 for a
nearing-.
On -motion -of Eobart and .e} tscne, the sum of 500
was appropriated to the' elanning Commission from the contingent
fund for the regional map.

A report was received from the Board of -colic Safety
recommending the adoption of the ordinance concerning the
c ping of milk bottles by mechanical means; recommending
that alley lights be installed as recommended by the police
Department, and recommending that ;1000 be transferred from the

On motion of Thoits and Bertsche, the ,A.itor
was authorized to issue warrants for payment of the services
of election officers and for rent of the polling places for
the bond election to be held on April 29, 1926.
To 2repare for Bond Issue
On motion of Wing and Oat cart, the Boarc. of
Public Works was requested to prepare plans, specifications
and estimates of cost for a bond issue for additional space for
city offices, a new jail and quarters for the /ire Department.
On motion the Council adjourned to meet at 8 2.
