M., pursuant to the following ca/1: .-"As. Mayor of the City of Palo Alto, 1 hereby call a special neeting•of the Council of the City of Palo Alto to convene at the Council Chamber in the City Hall of Palo Alto.,. at the ' hour of -7:30 P. M.,• Tuesday, December 20, 1927, -for the purpose of awarding the -contract for the paving of Stanford •Avenue, and to transact any other business which may arise. "The City Clerk is hereby directed to give a written notice of this meeting to each member of the Council of the City of. Palo Alto, -and to -enter this order on the minutes -'of said V special meeting of the Council. Dated Dec.. I5, 1927. A. C. Hobart, Mayor" Attest: E. L. The Clerk reported that copies of the minutes of the meeting of December 12, 1927 had been sent to each member of the Council. 1t was directed that on page 170 of the minutes, under "Deed for Park Accepted", the words "also known as Hyla B. Coo::ley' be inserted after the words "A4yla B. Jorgensen," and the words " for park purposes" be changed to read "for a public use". Cr. motion of Bonn'and Bertsche, the minutes of that meeting as thus amended were approved. Paving Contract Awarded It was announced that the special order of the day vias the awarding of the contract for the paving of Stanford Avenue under Resolution of Intention No. 584. A report was received from the Board of Works recommending that the contract for this work be awarded •to John Doyle of San Jose, the lowest responsible bidder, at his bid of 2.91551.80. Resolution No. 600, awarding said contract to John Doyle, as recommended, was read, and on motion of Cottrell and Thoits, was passed by unanimous vote on roil. call. Plumbing Law Amended A report was received from the Board of Works approving a proposed amendment to the plumbing ordinance, amending Paragraph B of Section 28 of the official plumbing law, and recommending that the same be adopted by the Council. A report was also received from Committee No, 1 approving the above recommendation of the Board of Works on this matter, together . with a letter froa the master plumbers of the city agreeing to this Proposed change in the ordinance. 0rdina:nce . As -toWidening Ashby Ave. A recommendation was received from the Planning Commission that Ashby Avenue be widened from Hamilton Avenue to Channing Avenue to 60 feet in width. The City Engineer explained, that ;Ashby Avenue is to be paved next year, and if the. street .is to.be widened, this should be done before it is paved. Resolution No. 602 accepting deed. to Marsh land from, A. M. Standish, was read, and on motion of Cottrell and Kellye was passed by unanimous vote on roll call. Resolutio.rA05, authorizing the City Auditor to draw a warrant for the.sum of $2,848.30 more or less, in payment for land deeded by A. M.. Standish, v•as read, and on motion of Hoge and' Cottrell was adpted by unanimous vote on roll call. Report of Gom4 i.4. on hayfield Sewers Referring to the matter of the Mayfield storm sew.: system now under consideration and the connection of same with the 24 --inch sewer on Cambridge Avenue and also the extension of the outlet on Chestnut Avenue, Committee No. 4 reported that it has: considered the details of this ;natter, and while it approved of proceeding :With this, there is no occasion for appropriations at the present time.
