The Clerk reported that copies of they minutes of the
meetings .of June 29 and July 1, 1927 had been sent; to each member.
' It'was d rected that the words "pursuant to adjournment of June
29, 1927," inthe. minutes of July 1st on page 105 be .omitted,
as the meeting ram °July 1st was a charter meeting_ "and a motion to
adjourn to, that date at the former meeting wee not in order.
On motion 'of Jordan and Bertsche, the minutes of these two
meetings were approved as corrected.
Ilearin :s on Changes in Setback Lines
It was announced that the special order of the day
was a bearingo,n the :recommendation of the City Planning
Commission for changes in setback lines on (1) property of
J. W. Martinie, corner of Tasso and Hawthorne, Block 34, from
24 to 18 feet on Hawthorne, (2) property of F. R, -Mills or. Tasso
Street between Palo .!alto and Ruthven Avenues in Block -34 from
16 to 11 feet, (3) property of F. W. Hunt, corner' -of Coleridge
and Bryant, Block 19, South Palo Alto, from 33 to 30 feat on
Coleridge. No protests .,were received and there was no one
present who wished` to be heard on this matter.
.Ordinance llo. 389, changing said setback lines as
recommended, was ".read" and on motion of Bertsche and Hoge, was
adopted by unanimoas"vote on roll call.

Ordinance No. 391, declaring the intention of the City
of Palo Alto to open and widen Cambridge Avenue between El
Camino Real and Park Boulevard in the City of ` Palo Alto, was
read;and on motion of Tholts and Cottrell, was passed_ by
unanimous vote on roll call.

Insurance Plan `.Presented
Mr. iurton H. Jayne addressed the Council and
presented a plan for group life insurance for city employees...
The matter was referred to Cornmit tee No. 5 and Mr. Jayne
was asked to take 4 the matter with this committee.
Budget Presented
The proposed' budget for 2.927-1928 was .:present.ed;;by
+:r. Jordan, ChairMan of `Committee No. 4. Mr. Loge made s.
:motion to accept the budget as preser ted, but the motion was
not seconded.
On motion of Cottrell and Bertsche, the Council
adjourned to Monday, July 18, 1927, at 8 P. Y. in the City
Hall, for the purpose of considering the budget.
