at 8 P. M., pursuant' to the call of the Mayor,,,, for the purpose of
passing the elwdt on proclamstio ,• ordinance for the general
municipal election to be held on May 9, 1927. Roll call as
follows
Present: Sertsche, Cathcart, Cooley, Cottrell, Basterday,
Hobart, Kelly, : Lausten„ a hoi t s , Thomas, Wood.
Absent: Bonn., Duvenecis, Jordan, Wing.
On motion. o.f Wood and Kelly,. it was`. decided to
transact :only such.b ,siness. as.was necessary at ,this meeting, and
o postpone all other. business. to a later meeting.
Ordinance No. 380, , providing for a municipal election
for the purpose of erecting six eounc linen as members of the
Council of the City of Palo Alto., was read, and osinotian of
`'ooiey and Lausten, was adopted by'unanimous vote on roll call.
As to . Paving Stanford Avenue
Councilman. Cooey brought up; the question of the
proposed paving of Stanford Avenue'. I t "was reported that the
pr oper•ty owners: on the southeasterly side of tie street were
filling to pay for paving the southeasterly half of the street,
and the suggestion was made' that Stanford ,University, the City of
Palo Alto, and,, tile. Boar:. of Superviaota of Ste: to Clara County
each contribute a sum for•pai ng the northwesterly half of the
street After some discussion, the Mayor, City Engineer and
Councilman Thoits were appointed as delegates of the city to
attend the ` meeting of the Board of Supervisors next Monday, May
2, 1927, for the p.xrpose of tak u up''this matter with that Board,
it being understood 'that ;Mr. A. S. Roth, representinz ,S tanfb rd,
