Con.ceanin` reservoir Lea ae
The City ngir_eer made a verbal report of his
conference with Comptroller Roth on the matter of the reservoir
lease, and statedt zat,az the reservoir is badly needed, it
might be advisable to execute the lease for the reservoir site
and right of way thereto, as a suit for condemnation proceedings
would probably take several months.
The question of approving the lease and starting
condemnation proceedings at the same time was brought up and
discussed by Councilman Cathcart. The City Attorney stated
that it was quite possible that condemnation proceedings could
be consummated within thirty days.
On motion of Cathcart and Jordan, the City Attorney
was instructed to initiate proceedings immediately for a
friendly condemnation suit against Stanford Univers=ity for the
land for the reservoir site and right of way thereto as
described in the proposed lease, by unanimous vote.
