Extension of Webster St:.. A communication was received from property owners on the proposed extension of ;Webster- Street between Oregon and Marion Avenues, expressing eipProval of a sketch submitted showing the extension of webster Street as drawn by Mr. C. J. atadem. A plan prepared by the City Engineer for the "extension .of Webster. Street oetween anta Rita Avenue and Marion Avenue was examined and dis'cus'sed.., A resolution adoptea by the Board of +orks at :its meeting on this date approving that portion of the plan which provides for the `opening` of Webster Street through Yrs. Strom4;uist t s property :was read. Councilmen Cathcart and Mosher V moved the adoption of -the' the' resolution. After a long discussion of the two plans presented, which. vary slightly where the proposed street crosses= Oregon .Avenue.,. the motion to adopt the resolution was:. withdrawn, `and; on Motion of Kelly and Thomas, the matter was referred "rack to the : Bard' of Works for prompt action, the City Attorney advising,:that it -was -necessary to agree anon a final plan before the resolution_ of intention for this work could be adopted. OpPin{nF ..ebster` .St. report was received from the Planning CoMMission recommending that • the request of Mr. Stadem and others; that steps be' take /to open; up' Webster Street from Oregon Avenue to Marion n Avenue' be approves, and that the Council initiate the necessary procedure. This was referred to the Boars of cc.7,ks . ,A report was also received from the Planning Commission disapproving of the recommendation of Committee No. 1 to rezone as second residential the 25 -foot lot district in Mayfield. Action on this matter'` was -deferred. As to Width of :Driveway; s at Oil Stations P report was received from Committee No. 1 reporting that -it met: in conference with the Board of Public works,. concern- ing the matter: of-, the. width of driveways at the Standard Oil and Snell. 011 -service stations at the entrance of University Avenue Camino -Real,: and recommending to the Council that the Council's action at its meeting of November 1•r_th on the matter of width of entrance' to' these. servi.ce stations be rescinded.'
