G' Baldwin expressing belief 'that there should be an overhead pathway rather than a subway.. :Dr, Baldwin also presentee. A report vas received fro:: the Board of Works on this matter, stating that it had on this same d.ay,;opened bids for the cora'truction of the pedestrian subway. under E1 Camino Real opposite Mayfield School. It 'reported to Council that: two bids had been- received, one from henry '. Post and one from The Thermotite Construction Company. The Board recommended that the lowest bidder be awarded the contract. as his b .d made to the 'Boars of Public ,orks, and that as .the bid was a littleMore than $300.00 in excess of the, budget appropriation Council approved the additional su t needea:,. Report of City Planning Commission. 'A report of the City Planning Commission was read, which recc, Mmer_ded that Council delay action until Cc :.ob--r 14th on the ordinance before Council recommended by Committee No. 1 to .abolish the 70% building width restriction in Third Residential Zone. An extended discussion followed in which Prof. Clam,:, Chairman of the .Planning Commission, the Building Inspector, ; anti different members of the City Council took part. After this -discussion by a vote of 9 ayes and 5 noes this pro- posed ordinance was referred to the City- Planning Commission for study and recommendation. Report of Committee No. 1.
