'resenatoxt of i3udet. The special order of the day was the presentation to the Connell of the .tentative budget prepared by the budget committee for the fiscal year 1932-33. Councilman Judson chairman ,of Committee No., 4, read a statement comprised of explanatory notes on.; the budget discussing the tax rate, the revenues. the expenditures and other items. of special interest. There were many citizens present. Each council member was give: a copy of the proposed budget. Councilman Judson stated that 'he : thought it would 'le desirable, not to take up consideration of the budget at the ti^ but to consider it:;later" at a special meeting. This would give the coma 4lmen an opportunity, to acquaintthemselves with the details ofthe proposed budget. lie also :stated that it was not possible to,distribute copies generally, but that. there would Ile or six copies in the city hall and all citizens were invited to' come=" in.:at any time and examine them. The Mayor stated that it was ;not desirable, to enter into a discussion ''-upon the budget at this 'time but that if any: citizens > desired to discuss it they were privil ed todo so at this time. No one spoke. - The City- Attorney then ,read: the proposed ordinance adopting, the budget for the fiscal year 1932-33, and announced that this was the first reading of the ordinance. The Council then directed that when it adjourned, it would adjourn_ to meet at 8 p.m. Monday,. August 1, 19;2, for the purpose of considering the budget and such other matters as might be brought before it. Councilman Christensen arrived at 8:10 p.m. present during " the' rest of the meeting.
