The Mayor and City Attorney announced= " their 'intention:. of attending this meeting . txit' Clam :Deed A. quit claim deed was presented, from the City of Palo Alto to•John Benson, in connection` with the closing of Cambridge Avenue. It' was explained that this deed was for the purpose of correcting a' former deed and granting to Mr. Benson; an additional ten.. feet of land. This was approved by Committee No. 1. On motion of fiood.and Thoits, the` Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to execute this quitclaim deed on behalf of the City," by unanimous vote on roll call. Action' was deferred until the next meeting of the Counc, le In re Federal Shelter for Boys, Councilman ;Collins, chairman of the special committee appointed. ,on January 8th to' consider. the proposition made, by the Federal Government; to rent a 'portion of the Federal 'telegraph, building for the establishment of a ,Federal shelter for boys, as outlined by Capt. ' J. v.Glov:er., made a report for the special committee. He stated,. that -the ,committee, after careful consideration' of t.his '"latter, had recommended t tat a portion of the ?edera1-.Telegraph building<` be leased to -,the .Federal; government' for this purpose;. that later it was I:earned`uriofficially that offers of other sites for. a boys' shelter had " been =made'; t o tne:. Advisory Board Ordinance No. 620, amending Sec. 452 of Codified 0rdina-ne No. 3 with reference to thepowers of the Advisory Board on Commercial Amusements, prohibiting the sale of children's admissions to certain motion pictures„ was given second reading.
