Judge E. E.:, Hardy was present on behalf of certain
roperty owners on Santa L .ita Road easterly from Louis Aoad,
protesting against the annexation of : their property to the city
of ealo Alto, and presented a vvri:tten protest signed by these
_eeop erty ewnews who do i o;t; desire to have their property included

Type protest presented by ;Juage i iray was received and it was
airectee that it be presented for consideration at the hearing
The question of the possibility of the City's furnishing
water to this distr. t was discussed, it being understood that
tle principal reason for the proposed :annexation was the desire
of the residents in ,that territory to .secure water from the -ity.
It was .reported tnat tne City engineer is now engaged in preparing
resort upon the estimated cost :of furnishing 4.a.ter and other
facilities to this district son the estimated revenue to
;e received from the district ifannexed, and that this report
" i li be presented . to. the Board of; Works at an early date.
v it was suggested that the passage of the resolutionof
intention above referred, to - be delayed unt i l the report of the
City ty Lingineer is receives." end coias:idereo, that it is probable, if
t .e report shops that it'would, be to. the City's advantage .to
i.iistuii water ,mains and furnish water to the district rather than
e annex the territory; `that th•e petitioners wou1.° be willing: to
