The latter bulletin concerning utility property .valuation was referred" ,to the budget committee: City of Palo Alto. with the documents papers relating. to Reports on offer of Sutter° Packing Co. to Purcriase Lots A report was received from the Board of Vvorks trans- mitting information with regard to, the offer of the Sutter Packing Lompany to purchase "certain fractional lots lying between the property of the Sutter 9acking Company and the Southern Pacific tracks, the Board reporting that it would be impossible to give a good and marketable title as requested by the Company and suggesting that r. Carmean of the Sutter Packing Company be advised of the inability of the City to consider this tatter furtner at this time. A report was also received from Committee No. 1 on this matter, recommending that the ,Deport of the board of 1' orks be approved. On motion of Aosher and. Bonham, these reports were approved. Re .B:ua, eting for Repair end- Maintenance- of Recreation A report was received from the Board of Works concerning tine matter of budgeting for -repair to playground equipment, as well as the repair and maintenance of the Community Center group of buildings and a11 recreation facilities of the City of Palo lto, the Board requesting the Council to outline in detail the responsibility of the Board ,jai connection with this problem. This was referred to -Committee No. 1 and the City Attorney. :Jan for building at 'yacht Harbor A report wasreceived from the Board of 4orks approving a proposed plan for an observation building and harbor master's living quarters at the Yacht Harbor, and reouesting the Council that 900.00 be allowed in the 1935-36 budget for materials and supplies to, be used in °this development,; tcus sum to include the piling required for the structures. T,he Board reported that " it tno-aght application could be maae for S.E.R.A. labor to build the structures. This was referred to Committee No. 1. .vocation of Gas Distributing Center and Butane Plant A report was received from the Board of lborks trans- aitting a petition from residents in. the vicinity of the proposed site for the Gas Distributing Center and Butane Plant,' s: ;gesting that if the plantis to be moved it be located to the. south of the Power lant instead. of to the west of the Power °rant as recommended' by the Board of Works in its report to the Council on MO et1a; - This was referred to Committee £ o . 1. A report was received from Committee No. . 1 informing the vouncii that it has considered the -protest of v. A. A report was a3.so received from: the Board of tiorks informing the Council that it has received a letter from the Southern Pacific Company advising that the parcelof land considered as an alternate site for the Gas Distributing Center and butane Plant would be available for ` 4p1,97O.00. The Board advised that this cost should be , added to the total e= cost of moving the Plant to the Mayfield site should this site be considered. This report was placed on file. Chan e of Setback Line zecommended A. report was received from the Planning Commission recommending that the setback line along the property of Mrs. N. E., Malcolm on Bryant Court, extending` 65 feet southwesterly from Waverley Street, be changed from 11 feet to 6 feet, / and recommending that the ordinance providing for this change / of setback, line be adopted. A`propose'' ordinance changing this setback line as recommended was given girst reading. Circular Turn.,around on: Washington ,venue _A report was received from the PlanningCommission approving the plan f'or a circular turn -around at the end of Washington Avenue, and recommending ng this plan be adopted by the City.:Council. ` . Cavri ttee. NO. 1 recommended the acceptanceof a deed to` a `parcel-, of land approximately 50 x 62 feet at the end of Washington Avenue for:; street purposes, and that the area of a circle approximately -29 feet in radius be graded and paved with a macadam Surface, and that this work be submitted as an S.E.R.. project. In this connection, a communication was read from Marjorie T. Sherman offering to deed the necessary parcel of V land in consideration of the City's establishing the turn -around one this property. un motion of Collins and Bonham the recommendation o; the Planning CoMmission was accepted. The City Clerk was .directed to: inform Mrs. Sherman that the Council has approved thb plan and that it is the sense of the Council to accept the deed she has offered. Lighting Horseshoe Courts A report was received from Committee No. 1 recommending that the horseshoe courts in Ririconada Park be lightedfor night use. This report, together with information previously :. received on this matter from the Boaw•d of Works, was referred ' to Committee No. 4. �greer ent for Removal of Poles report was received from Committee No. 1 recommend- ing that the Mayor, and Clerk be authorized to -execute the agreement with the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company and, `with the Pacific Gas and Electric Company= in connection zith !'than: removal of poles on University Avenue between Cowper Street ?/ and Middlefield Road. On motion of Thoits and Collins, the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to execute this agreement.
