It was the opinion of the C,o:am:;. ttee that plan for a retirement system which may be worked out snoee be submitted` to the voters in order to make" the p ; cn secure. Reference was made to a study made several years ago and it pointed out that conditions have changed since then and a different' situation exists now which would make it impossi.b_e._ t: use the pxev .ous report. The Council was informed that it would be necessar-, t� employ an actuary to make the study and there would be cer ai: expenses i for ;clerical work, but it was thought that appropriation. of $500.00 as r•equeste.d would be sufficient to cover all the expenses involved; it was states :;';.artier that Committee No. 4 is ready to proceed o with this study as soon; es authorization, is given by the Council and has selected the expert they would ' like to employ todo this work.
