A special meeting of the Council of the City of
Palo rRy.:to, held pursuant to , call or the iayor, was held on

role call tne following answered present: Bonham, Cathcart,
Collins, L.osteilo, Goddard, Judson, Mosher, Richards, balsinan,
Molts, Thomas.

moving a.nd .Reconstruction ox,. Gas Distributing
A report was received .from the Board of Works
informing the Counci:i: tiat a letter has been received from
the Legal Division of :the. Federal Emergency_ .harini.stration of
Public 'Works requesting.that the Council officially accept
the offer of the governatent in connection with moving the Gas
Distributing -Center and Butane Plant/. The Board also advised
that it has entered intoa, contract with the Pacific ripe
Company for the :parom, se of'pipe.; for a total sum of $7,550.9-.1
:..nu now has before- the government ; the board t s offer to contract
for tne balance of the work ,on this project.
In its report the Board of corks recommended that
official acceptance of . to - Federal Emergency

Administration oi. eublic Works be made at the earliest
convenience in order tnat this work may proceed without delay,,
a::.a tnat authorization be, made ` to estabiash a separate account
for this project conforming with government requirements, an°d

project, whdch amount is .included in the Board of Works budget
cut not set asiae as cash..
On this matter Committee No. i recommendeothe
approval of a resolution accepting the grant of the P.W.A.
in connection with; moving the Gas. Distributing Center.

by Councilman E. C. Thoits, and read in .full..
On motion of Thoits, seconded by Saisrn n, this
resolution was adopted on roll call by the following vote:
,Eyes Bonham, Cathcart, Collins, Costello, Goddard,
Judson, Richards, Saisman, Thoits, Thomas.
Noes: Mosher.
A report was receivea from Committee :No. 4 recommending
y. a t the City �uaitor be authorized to transfer to a special
account,as requ.ired. by the P.W.A. for financing the City's
snare of the cost of moving the Gas Distributing Center, the
sum • of 15 600.,.00 to be taken from the. following Gas Livision
accounts:
Acct. 4325 $ 300.00.

Total $15600.00
Un motion of Richards, secondedby molts, the report
of Committee aro 4 was approved, and the Auditor was authorized
to set up the sum of $15,600.00 in a special account to be called
"Construct .on Account for loving and Reconstruction of the Gds
Distributing. Center of the City of PaloAlto,' identified as
k'roject, State File Ao. California 1272-p, by the
following vote on roll call:
:eyes,: Bonham, Cathcart, Collins, Costello, Goddard,
Judson, Richards, Sa1sman, Thoits, Thou, -s.
Noes: Mosher.
Ar. Saar mays addressed the Council at this time anti
expressed appreciation on behalf of the residents in the vicinity
of the present Gars Distributing Center and Butane plant :.or the
Council's ' action in this matter.
