Ordinance No, 792, declaring the result of the second
general municipal :=election` held on May i6, 1939, was read, and on
motion of Thomas drystipher,:: ws.s adopted by unanimous vote on
roll call. This ::ordinance declares that. E. H. Bentrott: andE.
James Reed, having received the highest number of votes, are
duly elected councilmen to serve for the term of six years
commencing July 1.,.:1939.
Letter from Mrs. Mosher
A communication from Mrs. C. W. Mosher, expressing her
appreciation for the resolution passed by the Council in memory
of Mr. Mosher, was received and placed on file.

A report was; received from'.Comrittee No. 3 advising that
after further "consideration it concurs in the recommendation of
Committee No. 4 that the Community Kitchen be discontinued not
later than the first , of June. The committee felt ' that the fixed
charges for operation of the' Community Kitchen are too high to
justify maintaining it. for ; the;'small" need there seems to be, and
in view of the fact :that, the Police Department is able to, :handle'
the problemv'ithout the Community Kitchen, the committee believed
there is no further necessity of 'continuing it. It was suggested
by the committee that ;;if further need shod arise in the future,
consideration be given to vor1c x g out some other method to take

Attention was called to ° the previous recommendation. of

that he is informed that the Dees: - may

the. Council to re --affirm its : esvio r- action for settlement of
the ease on the basis orig lly agreed . upon, and to appropriate
the sum of $10.00 in addition to ; the amount . of ;$1600.00 now in
the account, so that,the, :ease, may' be finally 'settled ;.. Ile advised
that the City would he turn fishy with a title policy on the land
in question
On motion -of.Thomas and Molts, -the City Attorna' 'was
authorized to close :the- matter within -thirty days, on the basis
the Council heretofore authorized, and an additional appropria-
tion of $10.00 vas made from. the Contingent Fund, by nrstretritous
vote on roll call.
