A r ep�ort was received from the Board of Works trans--

directed attent.i:on: to `the : fact that ' if this work .i s 'done by the.
County as proposed, aza additions.` approp'?at on of $1,5#0.00.
by the City..wil'l`'be, necessary, for the installation of storm sewers
Co ittee : No. 1 , rec.orrnended. the approval of the storm
sewer project ouMiddl:efleld` Road as outlined. in Board of Works
Bulletin 16,,, and recommended that an additional sum of $1,5#0.00
be provldea to meet the neees.eary expense. The committee made
this recommendation contingentupon the County's agreeing to pave
Middlefield Road to established -city grades.
Coanmitee .:No 4 .`recommended that the recommendation
of Committee,No. l'15e approved and. that an appropriation'of
$1,52.o.00 ' be made to. cover this expense, this amount to be taken
from the unappropriated balance. •
On motion of Mitchell -and Thoits, the recommendations
of the Board .and committees were adopted and the appropriation was
authorized by unanimous vote ,on roll call.

recommending the adoption .of a res;oluti,on authorizing the City
to enter into an agreement with the Board of Supervisors whereby
the jurisdiction of that.; portion` of. Middlefield. Road' .from the
extension of the southeasterly: property line of the .David Starr
Jordan Junior High School --to the southeasterly line of Oregon
Avenue be` released, to the :County of" Santa Clara during the
construction of the `:tmprovemer_ts-, on Middlefield Road, with the
understanding that after: the` iimprovements are completed the

that in connectionwith the improvement of Madero Creek to
prevent the flooding' of adjacent lands, the acquisition of a
