The Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date

was called to -order by; the City _Clerk. who asked for nominations
for Mayor pro tem. On motion of Richards and Goddarc
Councilman i tche l was noM,na,ted as d elected ~Mayor pro tem and

Election. of Mayor
The Council .proceeded to ballot for ;he election of
or 'oa the fiscal year 1.3l O. 19 1. Councilmen Goddard
and Sout'- ood Were aapointed, tellers-.
On the first ballot Lorenz .Costello received:7 votes
and J. B. Blois= 6 votes On the second: ba.:? 1c> Mr. Blois

received a ma jority of the ,:votes" of the Council was declared
elected Mayor and took the cha d°..
(Councilman Thomas Cage at this time, 7:45 P.M.,
and was present during the rest of the meeting.
Appointment' of Official's'

1.0 ..E. Taylor received 13 votes and Arnold R. well
. `rote for the;- office of City'A sess:o;r. Mr. Taylor Was declared
elected.
The ballot for City .kttorney resulted in 10 votes for
Arnold Runwel1, 1 vote , for Fta#k .Cri st, 1 vote for, R. V. Pert rig
and ?. Grote for Kenneth McDougall. Mr.. Runwell was declared
elected.
F. V. Pering receives' 13 votes for the office of City
A::di for and was declared elected.
Winifred Kidd received 14 votes for the office of Cwt
Clerk and was declared elected.
John::E.'..Springer received 14 votes for the office of
