An ordinance entitled "Ordinance of the Council of the
City of Palo Alto Amending Section. 19.132 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code Establishing Truck Routes" was then introduced and accepted
for first reading:

liveries and a review of the truck situation be put on the agenda of
the Committee of the Whole. An amendment to the motion. by Debs
that the staff furnish in advance of the committee meeting to each
councilman: a summary ,of truck ordinances and weights used in

Angeles area was, after discussion, defeated by a voice vote.

urging that the ,four-way stop sign be installed.
A motion, was made by Rohrs, seconded by Rus, that
a resolution be passed. for installation of the stop sign at this inter-
section in view of the concern expressed by residents.
Mr. Steve Anderson also spoke and requested that the
sign not be installed,
Resolution No. 3680 entitled "Resolution of the Council
of the City of Palo Alto Amending Resolution 2971 Making the inter-
section of Louis Road and Ross Road a Stop Intersection" was then
introduced and was :adopted by a majority vote.

duced for second reading, and on motion by Byxbee was adopted by a

street line (actually 20 feet from the center of San Carlos Court).;

After an explanation by the Assistant City Manager, an
ordinance entitled "Ordinance of the Council of the City of Palo Alto
Amending Section 19.93 of Chapter 19 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code Pertaining to Use of Streets for Storage of Vehicles" was intro-
duced and on motion made and seconded was accepted for first reading
by a unanimous ' vote.
Weed Abatement1963-64
Pursuant to the request of the City Engineer, Resolution.
No. 3681 entitled "Resolution of the Council of the City of Palo Alto
Declaring Weeds to be a Nuisance" was introduced and on motion by
Byxbce, duly seconded, was adopted by a unanimous vote.
Award of Bid (Radio :Equipment)
Following a report and recommendation of the Assistant,.
City Manager on bids submitted_ for radio equipment for the City, it
was moved by Woodward, seconded and unanimously carried that the
low bid of Ivlotorols C & E, Inc., in the sari of $13,782.80, be
accepted and the Mayor; was authorized and directed to execute a
contract with "Motorola in this stun for the radio equipr .errt.
Palo Alto Gardens_ Sewer Maintenance A5reernent
The Assistant City Manager reported on a proposed
supplement to the exisrirg'a.g.reement for sewage treatment and dis-
pose.). services between the City of Palo Alto and Palo Alto Gardens
Sewer Maintenance District as outlined in the letter sent to the
Council -members:.
On motion by'Byxbet, secorded and unarimously
carried, the supplemental' agreement as explained' by the Assistant
City Manager was approved and the Mayor authorized and directed
to execute the: contract.
Sewage Treatrnert Plait
The Assistant City Manager reviewed the proposed.
project and a study of the effects of industria.1 waste on the. City's
Sewerage system. (Mr.Morgan.'s report or the project and the
proposa;', ford engineering services or the industrialwastes survey
by Harry N. Jenks; John H. Jenks and Carroll E. Brad'oerry and
Assoc`. )nc. had been forwarded in the Council packets.)
At the conclusion of the report, it was moved by Byxbee,.

The .Assistant City Manager explained that surplus.
Seale .Canal property could be deeded to the abutting property owner;,.

Lease of Administrative Office Space
The Assistant City Manager reported on a proposed
lease of administrative, office space at 445 Sherman Avenue to be
used by the City -departments presently located ir. the old Pato Alto'
Hospital, exT 1aixiing that under the rehabilitation program for the
old hospital, space there will not be available; that the total monthly
rental Lrcer the proposed' lease would be $732.00 plus janitorial'
services.
After discussion of the matter, a motion was made
by Ryxbee hat the Council authorize the lease of the premises at
445 Sherman' Avenue for one year and that the Mayor be authorized
and directed, to execute.. it. The motion was seconded and carried
