City Hall, Palo Alto, California May 11, 1964 The Council of the City of Palo Alto met in regular session on this date at 7:30 p.m. , Mayor Cresap presiding. Present;° Arnold, Beahrs, Bv'xbee, Comstock, Cooley., Cresap, •Debs, Dias, Flint, Porter, Rodgers, Rohre, Rus, Woodward, Zweng. Absent:.;. None. Major Cresap welcomed to the Council meeting a group of American Field ServiceStudents who are presently living with Palo Alto farnilies and attending school. He then introduced the following , students; Miss MaJrtr,.ne Caillaud, Poitiers, France, who is living with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Addicott; Miss Sernr,a Oxden, Ankara, Turkey, who is living with Dr. and Mrs. J. Sewall Brown; Mr. Rajiv Pathek, Sholapur, India, who is living with Mr. arid Mrs. James B. Greer; Mr. Peter ,Stewart; Gordon, Australia, who is living with Mr. and Mrs. John A. Stern; and Miss Arnalia Lavranou, Athens, Greece, who is living with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cooley. Miss•.Cristina Lerche, Adrogue, Argentina, who is re- siding with Mr.` and Mrs. George Wilson; and Miss Borghild Roald, Saudi, Norway, who is residing with Dr. and Mrs. Charles F. Park, Jr. were unable to be present at the meeting. He' advised the students that letters were being sent to, the Mayors of their respective cities expressing appreciation for the privilege of -having the students live in Palo Alto for the past year. He requested Councilman Cooley to distribute to the students a carbon copy :of the letters Councirlman_Cooley explained briefly the American Field Service Students program He commented that he and his wife,felt that Miss Arnalia Lavranou has been a wonderful addition to their family., Minutes of Previous Meeting The minutes of the meeting of April 27, 1964 were approved as distributed.'
