RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Pal1:J Alto, C.aliforr~ a, that in 1 ts opinion the public interest and conven- 1~nce require, and that it is the intention of said City Council to crder the following acqu1s1 tlona to be had in and for :rn1d City, to-wit: · l(a). A strip of land along the south side of Hamilton Avenue approximately 30 feet wide, .from Lot l, Block 185, Crescent Park Addition, to Greer Road, formerly Greer Lane, to widen said Avenue to a width of 60 feet. {b). A strip or land along the northwest ~ide or Greer Road, 30 feet wide, frorn Hamilton Avenue to Channing Avenue, to widen said road to 60 feet. (c). A strip of land along the northerly side nf Channing Avenue, approximateJ.y 5 feet wide, from t.ot 13, Block 185, Crescent Park Addi tj.on, to Greer Road, to widen said Avenue to 70 feet. (d) The acqu1s1t1.on of additional easemento at intersec­ tion corners to provide sidewalk returns. 2. A map or plat of the lands necessary or convenient to be taken for such proposed acquls1 t101is has been filed wl th the City Clerk and approved by the City Council, to which reference is hereby made for further particulars. 3. A statement of the total estimated cost or oaid acquisitions stating separately the estimated cost or each par­ cel of land proposed to be acquired, and of the incidental ex­ penses of said proceedings for said acquisitions, has been f1led with the City Clerk and approved by the City Council, to which reference is hereby made for further particulars. 4. Said contemplated acqu1s1tlons and the cost and ex­ pense thereof and the expenses incidental thereto shall be Made chargeable upon the abutting properties in said district bene­ fited thereby. 1'he propert:l.es so "benefj.te1'1, and the boundaries thereof, are more particularly shown on the map on file in the office of thE: Ci t~r Cler·k of' said City) to which reference is hereby made for n more detailed description thereof. 5. All public streets, alleys and ways or other public property in use' in the performance of a public function shall be omitted from the assessment hereinafter to be made to cover the cost of said acq~is:tions. 6. All of :aid acquisitions shall be done under the sup~rv1s1on of the CitY Engineer of the City or Palo Alto. 7. Notice i.s hereby g1.ven that serial bonds to represent the unpaid assessment:) and bear interest at the rate of not t.c. exceed four per cent {4%) per annum, will be lssued pursuant to Part 4, Bond Plan C of Article IV of the Palo Alto Improvement Procedure Code, the last installment of which shall mature nine (9) years from the second day of July next succeeding ten months from their date. • 2~l5 1'1:~: ' .·-' . Notice :1.s hereby given that Monday, the 9th day of January, 1950, at the hour of '(:30 o'clocl< P.M. at the Council Chambers of the City Council o;" sa1d City, in the City Hall of said City of Palo Alto ls hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any and all persons having any objections to the propo::;ed acqu1s1 tj .• ~ns or against the district to be assessed for the cost3 and expenses thereof, or the City Engineer's estimate of the coets and expenses thereof, may appear before said Council and show cause why said proposed acquisitions should not be carried out 1n accordance with this Resolution of Intention. 8. The Clerk o!' said City shall cause this resolution of intention to be published twice ln the Palo Alto Times, a dally newspaper published and circulated in the City of Palo Alto 1 which said paper is hereby designated for that purpose, and which 1::-: hereby designated as the newspaper in which all further notices required to be made herein ::;hall be published. 9.
