RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City or Palo Alto,
Calif:>rnia, that
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City o.': Palo Alto did, in
open eeae1on, on the 10th day or October, 1949, publicly open,
examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids ror the work to
be done and improvements to be mad~, as de~cr1bed and specified
1n Resolution of Int~nt1on No. 1883 or aa.td Council adopted
September 12, 1949, to which Resolution or Intention reference is
hereby made for a de8cript1on or said work and improvements and/or
the materials, supplies or equipment to be furnished therefor.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERJ'.ID, as follows:
1. That said City Council or the City or Palo Alto,
Cal1.forn1a, hereby rejects all of sa1ci proposals or bids except
that hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for
doing said work and making said 1mproirement to the lowest respon
sible bidder, to-wit:
L. C. SMITH COMPANY
at the prices named in 1ts bid;
2. That the Mayor and Clerk of said City of Palo Alto be,
and they are hereby, authorized to make and enter into a written
cor.tract with said succe8sful bidder, and to receive and approve
ell bonds 1n connection therewith.

I hereby certify the f oreg~1ng to be a true copy or resolu
tion adopted by the City Council of the City of Palo Alto,
California, at an adjourned regular meeting thereof held on the
31st day of October, 1949, by the following vote of the members
thereof:
AYES, and in favor thereof, Councilmen:
3entrott, Blois, Bolander, Bowden, Cashel, Cathcart, Freedman,
H:l.11, Linder, ~erner, Mitchell, Montrou11, Morten, Wickett.
