HomeMy WebLinkAbout01111975Special Seasion Saturday, January 11, 1975 The City Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Conference Room, 250 Hamilton Avenue, in a Special Meeting with Senator Arlen Gregorio and members of his staff. Mayor Sher presided. PRESENT: Berwald deft at 10:30 a.m.), Henderson Pearson, Rosenbaum, Sher ABSENT: Beahrs, Clay, Comstock, Norton The City Manager, City Attorney and City Clerk were in attendance and the meeting was open to members of the public. Senator Gregorio introduced Charlotte Schultz, staff member at his Menlo Park office, and staff member, Peter Herman, based in Sacramento. The following subjects were discussed informally with members of the public, participating: 1. Dumbarton Bridge 2. California Vehicle Code Speed limits prohibiting radar surveillance when speed limit requires a survey. 3. Arts Legislation Proposal from Joint Committee on the Arts and what its effect will he on Palo Alec. 4. Regional Government -- possibility of revival of legislation such as A13 2040. 1. Labor Relations in local governments. (Councilman Ber ald left at 10:30 a,m, ) 6. State Land Use legislation. 7. Hand Gun Control legislation. 8. Housing Rehabilitation legislation. 9. Proposal for a 99 member one house Legislature. Mayor Sher thanked Senator Gregorio and his staff for a most helpful and informative meeting.
