OF INTENTION TO MODIFY PROCEEDINGS AND OF PUBLIC
CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TO MAXE ACQUI,ITIONS
CALIFORNIA AVENUE DISTRICT ACQUISITIONS
PROJECT NO. 48-9
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City ot Palo Alto,
California, that 1t 1e the intention of said Council to further
modify the proceedings under its Res~lut1on ot Intention Ne.
1721 adopted July 26, 1948, as follo~s:
1. That the publ~.c convenience and necessity require
and 1t ls the intention of this Council to change and modify
the proceedings by eliminating therefrom the easements proposed
to be acquired over the following parcels of land situated in
the City of Palo Alto, County of Santa Clara, California, to-wit:

2. That the public convenience and neceaa1ty require
and 1t 1s the intention of this Council to change and aod1ty
the proceedings by including therein the e.cqu1a1t1on or ~ase
aaents for alley and pedestrian lane and pole line purposes,
together w1th the acqu1s1t1on or relocation of the improvements
thereon, on the following parcels or land situate 1n the City
of Palo Alto, County ot Santa Clara, California, to-wit:

3. That the public convenience and necessity require
and that it 1a the intention ot this Council to change and
modify the estimate of coat tor said aequ1a1t1ona to not to ex
ceed $142,239.25.
4. Th.at the public conven1enc• and necessity rtsqu1re
and that it 1& the 1ntont:t..on ot this Council to chutgf!' and modity
the aaseaement by changing the estimated coat of the acqu1a1t1ona
and the incidental expense.
5. That aaid changes and mod1t1cat1ons be made by the
City Engineer upon the race or the plans and eatiJlate or coats
on file with the Clerk 1 or by tiling amended copies thereof or
amendments thereto.
6. That reterence be, and it 1a hereby, made to the
a.mended plans and amended estimate or cost on tile 1n the orr1ce
or the City Clerk or eaid City, to which reference is hereby made
for further particulars.
7. That the public convenience and necesa1ty require
the acqu1e1t1ons ot easement• 1n the proceedings under said
Resolution or Intention No. 1721 aa proposed to be mod1tied pur
aua.nt hereto.
8. That Monday, the 10th day or October, 1949, at the
hour or 7:30 o 1 clock P.M., at the Council Chambers of the City
CoWlcil in the City Hall or aaid City are hereby t1xed as the
time and place whan and where any and all persons 1ntereated may
appear and show cause, 1r any they have, why the City Council
should not chang~ and modify the proceedings aa herein propoeed.
9. That a copy vr th1a resolut1on be published once in
the Palo Alto Times and posted on the bulletin board at the City
Hall~ the publication and posting to be at least t~n (10) days
before the date set tor hearing. * • * ... •
I hereby cert1t~ that the foregoing resolution was
passed by the City Council of the City of Palo Alto, Cal1torn1a,
at a regular meeting; thereof held on the 12th day of September,
