CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS
OREGON AVENUE, ET AL
ACQUISITION AND IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT NO. 48-1
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Palo Alto,
California, that
WHEREAS, the City Counc11 of the City of Palo Altt) did
on the 28th day of March, 1949, adopt its Resolution of Intontion
to order work to be done and improvements to be made in .Ja1'l City,
all as more particularly described and set .forth in said Renolu
tion of Intention;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of said City is hel~eby
directed to publish in the Palo Alto 'fimes, a newspaper or
general circulation, printed, published and circulated in su1d
City and hereby designated by said Council for that purpose .. a
Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals or Bids for doing the work and
making the improvements descrl.bed in said Resolution of Intunt1on,
and referring to the plans and specifications on file in thn office
of the City Clerk.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a check
peya.ble to the City of Palo }.1to, certified by a respone1blE~ bank,
f<:,r an amount which ehall be not lees than ten per cent ( lo,n or
the aggregate of the proposal, or by a bond for said amount .!Lnd so
payable, ~igned by the bidder and two suret1eo, who shall Justify
before any officer competent to administer oaths, in double the
said a.~ount, and over and above all statutory exemptions.
Said sealed proposals shall be delivered to the Clerk
of said City Council, to-wit: the Clty Clerk, on or before
3: 00 P .M. of Monday, t.r.e 2nd day of May, 1949, aald time bej.ng not
less than ten days from the time or the flrtst publ1cat1on of said
notice. Bids w111 be opened, examined and declared on said day
and hour by the Board of Public Works of said City, in the Council
Chambers 1n the City HaJ.l in said. City, who shall :report to the
City Council ita findings,, which findings shall be ccnsidere·:i by
said Council at its meeting to be held at said place on Monc.ay,
May 9, 1949, at 7:30 o'clock i..M.
