RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF PALO ALTO
OF ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF A PORTION
OF VISTA AVENUE
The Council of the City of Pal o Alto d oes RESOLVE as
fo llows:
SECTION 1. It is the inte nti on of the Council of the City
of Palo Alto to vacate a p ortion of a public street com only
known as Vista Avenue in the City of P alo Alto, County of
San ta Clara , State of Californi a, as des crib ed it EXHIBIT A,
an d as sho wn on a ma p marked EXHIBIT B, both of which exhibits
arc attached hereto and by re ference made a p art hereof .
SECTION 2. It is further the intention of the Council of
the City of Palo Alto to re serve and except fr om said va cation
an ea smen t in , on, ove r, across and urder said st reet f or public
utility, storm drainage and sa nita ry sewe r purposes, as des-
cr ibed in sa id EXHIBIT A.
SECTION 3. Monday, the 25th day of November
1968, at 7:30 p.m. Council Chambers, City Hall, Pa lo Alto,
California, is set as the time and place of hearing where and
when any person having an in tere st in such pr oceedings ma y
a ppea r and presen t eviden ce either for or against such vacation,
SECTION 4. All of the pr oceedings for the va catio n of
said street, and said reservation of ea sement, sha ll be con -
ducted pursuant to Section 8300 et se q. of the Stree ts and
Highway Code.
SECTION 5. The City Enginee r is directed to pest notic e
of street v acation a nd reserva tion of easeme nt conspicuously
a long the street to be va cated as describe d in Section 1 hereo f
- 1 -
at least 10 days bef ore the h earing, posting them no m ore tha n
300 feet apart, but there sh all be at least three notices posted.
Such n otices shall state the passage of this Resolution of In-
ten tion, and the tim e and place of the hea ring .
SECTION 6. The Clerk is directed to p ublish a copy of
this resolution in the Palo Alt o Times twice prior to the d ate
of hearing.

VISTA AVENUE ABANDONMENT
Beginning at the p oint of intersecti on of the south-
ea sterly line of Vista A ve nue (40 f eet wid e), a nd the
southwest erly lin e of El Camino Way (66 feet wide), s aid p oint
being on the northeast erly line of that certain t ract of l and
conve yed to J. E. Reiter, B. L. D riscoll and R. F. Driscoll,
by Dee d record ed Dec ember 11, 1919 in B ook 496 at pag e 432 of
Deeds, Official Rec ords of S anta Cl ara County, Califo rnia;
thence N. 56°55'W., 40 .00 feet to the point of int erse ction
of the nor thwesterly line of Vista Avenu e and said south-
westerly line of El C amin o W ay; thenc e S. 33°05'W., al ong
said northwesterly line, 70.94 feet to the p oint of inter-
se ction of said northweste rly lin e with the curving n orth-
easter ly line of El Camino R eal (120 feet wide); the nce
southeaster ly, along the arc of a curve to the right, having
a radius of 3060 feet, the center of which bears S. 50 °56'17"
W. from sa id last mentioned point, through a central a ngle of
0°47'19" for an arc distance of 42.12 f eet to th e point of
inter sec tion of said northeasterly line of El Camino Real
(120 feet wide) with said southeasterly line; th ence N. 33°05'
E., a lon g said southeasterly line 84.13 f eet to the point of
be ginning, being a portion of Rancho Ri nc on de Sa n Francisquito
and c ontaining 0.071 a cres, more or less.
Re serving therefro m an ea sement for public utilities,
storm drainage a nd sa nitary sewe r purposes over, under and
across the entire parcel de scribed above.
