RES OLUTION NO. 4166
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNC/L OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
DECL ARING WEEDS TO BE A NUIS ANCE
The Co uncil of the City of P alo Alto does RESOLVE as
follows:
W HEREAS, certain weeds are growing in the City of Palo Alto
upon var ious streets, alley s, sidewalk s and upon priv ate
property within said municipality, which said weeds bear seeds
of a wingy or downy nature, or whi ch may attain su ch large
growth as to become, when dry, a fir e me na ce, or which are
otherwise noxious and dangerous; and
WHEREAS, said we eds con stitute a public nuisance;
N OW , THEREFORE, it is her eby resolved that said weed s do
now constitu te and will continu e to constitute a public nuisance
and it is ordere d that the said public nuisance be ab ated in
the man ne r provided by Chapter 8.08 of the Palo Alto Muni cipal
Code and that said nuisance exists upon a ll of the streets,
alleys, sidewalks and private property within said city, as
s hown, descr ibe d and deline ated on the seve ra l maps of the
pr operties in sa id city whic h a re re corde d in the Office of the
County Rec order of the Co unty of Santa Clara, reference in each
instanc e fo r the descr iption of any par ticular stree t, alley
or priva te prope rty being hereby made to the se vera l maps
afo re said, and, in the event of there being several subdivisio n
mops on which the same lots a re s hown, re fere nce is here by made
to the lates t subdiv3ion map.
AND IT IS ORDERED, that Mo nday, the 4th da y of Nove mber,
1968, at the hour of 7:30 p. m. of s aid day, at the Council
Chambers of the City Hall of s aid city, be and the same is fixed
as the time and plac e when objections to the pro po se d destruction
or remov al of suc h weeds shall be heard and give n due conside ra-
tion .

The Sup erintendent of Public W orks is hereby ordered a nd
dir ected to c ause noti ce of said h ea ring to be gi ve n in the
time, m an ner a nd f orm provided in Chapter 8.08 of s aid P alo Alto
Mu nicipal C ode.
The above and for egoing r esolution was d uly and regularly
introduced and p assed at a r egula r me eting of the Cou ncil of the
City of Palo Alto on Monday, the
