A RESOLUTION ORDERING WORK BY FORCE ACCCUNT
FOOTHIT.TS GAS SYSTEM EXTENSION
RESOLVED, by the Cou ncil of the City of P alo Alto, Califo rni a,
that the City itself f orthwith perfor m the w ork of co nstr uctio n of
the following im provements, using materials to be p urchased by the
City in the mann er required by City laws and Ordin ances:
Primary Supply System
Part 2 - New Construction
The con struction of steel gas transmission pipe and appurtenances
from Ga s Distribution Station No . 3 near Page Mill R oad and
Matadero Creek ge nerally so utherly and southwesterly in easements
to be acqu ired a cr oss the lands of Stanford University to near
the City limits of the City of Palo Alto, thence co ntinui ng s outh-
westerly in ea sements to be acqu ired herei n to the existi ng gas
pipelin e at the Interstate 280 Highway I nte rchange; and fr om the
sou therly te rminus of said existing pipeline gener ally i n, along
and parallel to Pa ge Mill Road to and across A rastrad ero R oad,
thence westerly an d no rthweste rly generally parallel to A rastrad ero
Road to a poin t a ppro xima tely 2200 feet from Page Mill Road,
thence so uthw esterly in easements to be acquired herein to the
westerly bo undaries of the Palo Alto Hills Golf & Countr y Club
property.
Gas Service System to the Alex is Dr ive Area
The construction of a secondary supply ga s pipeline and appurte-
na nces from the southwester ly terminu s of the la st-mentioned
pipeline at the pro per ty lin e of the Palo Alto Hills Go lf &
Co untry Club, genera lly so uthwe sterly in easements to be acquired
herein across said Co un try Club property to its easterly boundary,
to gether w ith a complete gas distribution system including gas
service connections in Alex is Drive, Ba nde ra Drive, Country Club
Court a nd such pu blic utility easements as are necessa ry to pro -
vide complete ga s distribu tio n ser vice to a ll of the properties
within the subareas ide ntified as Subareas 6, 7, 8 and 9 on the
map showing the boundaries of the propo sed a ssessment district
hereinafter referred to .
Gas Service System to Stanfo rd and American
Institu te for Resea rch Area
The con struction of a secondar y gas supply pipeline and appur-
tena nces from the point on the prima ry supply system described
above on Arastradero Road fro m which said primary supply system
lin e leaves Ara stradero Road southwesterly, genera lly westerly,
souther ly an d westerly alon g Ara strade ro Road to the most westerly
City limits lin e of the City of Pa lo Alto on Ar astrade ro Road.
Said work shall be accom plished in accordance with the spe cifi-
cations and plan s prepared therefor an d hereby approved, a nd that the

cost thereof be paid from the Gas Fund.
Upon completi on of said impr ovements, pr oceedi ngs shall be
taken pursuant to Title 13 of the Palo Alto Municip al Code for
acquisition of rights of service awl use in the City gas system,
including said impro vements, on behalf of properties serv ed and to
be served thereby, which properties are shown on the map e ntitled
"Map Showing Boun daries of Pr op osed Assessment District, F oothills
Ga s System" on file in the office of the City Clerk .

correct copy of a resolution duly passed a nd ad opt ed by the City
Cou ncil of the City of Palo Alto, California, at a meeting thereof
held on the to da y of Septe mber , 1968, by the following
vote of the members thereof:
