RESOLUTION NO. 4141
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO THE PALO ALTO -ST ANFORD
HOSPITAL BOARD AND STAFF FOR THEIR MANY CONTRIBUTIONS
AND YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE COM MUNITY AND ITS CITIZENS
IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE PLO ALTO -STANFORD
HOSPITAL CENTER
WHEREAS, for many years the City of Palo Alto and Stanford
Univ ersity have jointly ope rated the Palo Alto -Sta nford H ospital
Cente r; and
WHER EAS, dur ing these any years the policy decisions and
administrative r espon sibilities fo r the operation of the hospital
ha ve been vested in a Boa -:d of Direct ors, appointed by the City
a nd the Univ ersity, and in an a dministrative staff; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors and administrative staff
ha ve provide d and maintained the highest level of service in
administering the ho spital program, thus providing the best
possible me dical facility and care for the re sidents of this
commu nity; and
WHEREAS, the City of Pa lo Alto a nd Stanford University have
rec ently complete d negotia tions which will transfer the operation
and administration of the ho spital facilities to Stanfor d University,
still providing the best of medical car e to the r esidents of this
community for many year s to come.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Palo Alto,
Califo rnia , do es hereby express its sincere a ppr eciation to the
Board of Directors a nd Staff of the Pa lo Alto -Stanford Hospital
Center for their many contributions and many ye ars of service to
the c ommunity and its citizens in the administration and
operation of the j oint City -Unive rsity Hospital facilities.
