RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO DORIS HOLDEN UPON HER
RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, DORIS HOLDEN has recently reti red from employment
as Children's Librarian with the City of Palo Alt o Library Syst em
after nineteen years of se rvice; and
WHEREAS, MRS. HOLDEN has served the boys and girls of Palo
Alto as an essential p rof essio nal staff member; devoting herself
ea gerly to public service and gaining th e confidence of and being
an inspiration to the youth of ou r city th rough her co nstru ctive
leade rship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto honor her for the example she has set in the p ersonal
sense of responsibility to the youth of our city which sh e achieved
thro ugh thoughtful considera tion of their needs and he reby grate-
fully records the appreciation of the me mbers of this C ouncil as
well as the appreciation of the citizens of this community f or
her long and faithful service to the City of Palo Alto.
