Rey►or on Annexation Ele c ti (l : Lost, The City Clerk submitted the returns of the election held on September 5, 1919, on the question of the annexation of East Palo Alto to the City of Palo Alto, as follows: For Annexation . . . . . 26 votes Against annexation 40 " Total 66 " Necessary to carry, 34 votes - On motion of Terwilliger, duly seconded, the'annexation proposition. Vas declared lost - As to Zone Change, W. . Allen addressed the Council in the matter of 1Jad- ing a chang&made in the zoning of the city to permit the erection of a garage on Bryant street in Block 20. The matter was re- ferred to the City Planning Commission. Pctitior, for Annexation. A petition was received from residents of the Ashby Tract, asking that the Council call an election on the proposi- tion to annex ,the Ashby Tract and Lot ;' j of the Pitman Partition to the City of Palo Alto. Said petition was accompanied by an affidavit of the City Clerk that said petition was signed by more than 25 of the registered qualified voters of the territory sought to be anz exed.
