The Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date
at 8 p.m., pursuant to Section 8., Article 1, Part 2, of Codified
Ordinance No. 1.
In the absence of Mayer Swain. the meeting was called
to. order by the City Clerk, and on ms�tion, E. C. Molts waa elect-
ed acting Mayor,.

lative to the abandonment of Main Street in Mayf ie ld to the State
Highway Association was referred to the City Clerk to learn the
wishes of Mayfield.

Ordinance #194 entitled "An Ordinance Fixing the Nate
of Taxes for the City of Palo Alto for the Fiscal Year 1919-1920"
was read and on motion of Jordan and Terwilliger was p<aesed by
unanimous vote on roll call.
The rates fixed are as follows: -
