The Council of the City of Palo Alto :yet on this date at
B p.m.. , pursuant to adjournment of June 25, 1919, with Mayor
Cooley presiding. Roll call as follows:
Present: Cathcart, Conley, Easterday, Henry, Jordan,
Peterson, Roller, Swain, Thoits, Vail, ',zing.

The minutes of the regular meeting of June 9th and the
ad,jourried meetings of June 10th, 24th and 25th, 1C'l9 were read
and approved as read, •

An ordinance *a introduced and read, entitled, "An Or-
dinance Providing for the Sale of Electric Current Outside the
City Limits," On motion said ordinance was referred to Committee

Reports Received.
The report of the Department of Public Works for May
was accepted and ordered filed.
The City Attorney reported that he had closed the deal
for the purchase of the Townsend property in Block 13 and had the
deeds, mortgage releasee and all other papers in connection there -
Tube Attorney reported that the hearing of the matter of
the Seale Water Works before the -Railroad Commission has been set
for September 3, 1919.
To Have Bonds Printed.
On motion of- Thoits.and Swain the printins the Power
avant Bonds of 1919 was referred to Committee #4.

The resignation of J,W.Roiler as a member of the Board
cf Public Safety was read and -on motion of Vail and Miller was
accepted« the clerk being instructed to write a letter of appre-
ciation to Mr. Roller.

Chairman Swain stated- that some action was needed to meet

Jordan moved that the matter be referred to Committee #5
: ? with .power to act and to close the business of the fiscal year
1918 -1919. The motion was seconded by roller and passed by unan-
imous vote on roll l call.

Mayor Cooley addressed the Council, expreesing r i s thanks
^.d appreciation for the support given him during the three years
-'? ad served, as Mayor.
Jordan responded, voicing the good will of the Council and
"1e realization of the excellent service given the City by the Yayox°q
pail believed that few understood the amount of unselfish work done.

A motion by Jordan and Vail That the Council express
appreciation of the service of Mayor Cooley was adopted.
