The Council • of the City of Palo Alto met on this date
at a p.m. , pursuant to adjournment of May, 20, 1919, with Mayor
Cooley presiding. Roll call as follows:
Presemt : Cathcart, Cooley, Easterday, , Henry, Miller, Roller,
Snyder, Swain. - .
Absent: Fisher, Jordan, Mosher,- Peterson, Thoi ys. Vai 1, Wing.
Canvass of Election Returns.
The City Clerk presented• a report summarizing the semi-
official returns of the special municipal election held on May
27, 1919, to vote on two. propositions, one to issue bonds in the
sum of $20,000 for the purchase of a city hall site and one to
issue bonds in the sum of $10,000 for the .purchase of a block of
land for a city part.
Swain moved that the Council., proceed to open and recount
returns on the second proposition. The motion was seconded
by Easterday and passed.
The Council -proceeded to such recount and the returns

A. resolution, entitled "Declaring the Result of the
Election held in the City of Palo Alto, County of Santa Clara,
State of California, on May 27, 1919, Upon the Question of Incur-
ring a Bonded Indebtedness for the Objects and 'urpoz ea Hereinaf-
ter Enumerated," was read and on motion of Swain, seconded by
roller , was passed

On motion of Snyder, .,seconder by Cathcart, it was provid-
ed that said bonds shall be of the Denomination of $1000 each, one
Omd maturing on June 1, 1920, and one each year thereafter on
siLid date to 1939. - Swain moved that said ordinance be passed. The motion
.Nas seconded by Miller and carried by unanimous vote on roll call.
