Cathcart, Easterday, Fisher, _Mosher, `rains: The minutes of the regular meeting of April 14th, and of the adjourned meetings. of April 21st and May 2nd, read and approved as read. 1919, were Ordinance #133 (Laundries Pas, ea. Chairman Vail for Committee i2 recommended the enactment of an ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance for the ?rotection of the Health of the People of the City of Palo Aiti, Providing for in- spection by the health Officer of the City of Palo Alto of Laun- dries and Other Establishments of Like Character.,and Providing a License Therefor." ;n Said Ordinance was given second ,zed ng and on motion of Peterson, seconded by Miller, was passed by unanj.ous vote on roll call. Lso1ution as to Bond Election Passe Chairman Thoits of Committee #4 made a report in the mat ter of the offer of ars. Mary E. Shepard to sell Block 62 to the city for $18,000, stating that Mrs. Shepard had agreed to take in exchange as part payment for said block the lot owned by the city in Block 30; provided the city will lease said lot for three years at a rental of $50 a month. Chairman Thoits also reported that the property of a:rs. - S. S. Townsend. in Block 13 is offered to the city. et a price of $20,000. The Committee recommended. that the question be submitted to the vote of the people of voting bonds in the sum of n0,000 for the purchase,of Block 62 and of voting bends in the sum of $20,000 for the purchase of the Townsend property. A resolution was introduced and read, entitled: "Resolu- tion Determining that the Public Interest and Public necessity Demand Certain Public Municipal Improvements in and for the City of Palo Alto, the Cost of Which will be too Great to be Paid out of the Ordinary Income and Revenue of said City, to wit: 'the Ac- quisitiox by Purchase of a Site of land for a City Havel, and the Acquj ait.i:on by Purchase of a Block. of Land for a City Park," On motion of Petereon, seconded by Thoits, said resolu- tion was passed by unanimous vote on roll call, the ten councilmen presett all voting aye.
