A meeting of the -Council of the City of Palo Alto is "hereby called for Friday, March 21, 1919, at 8 o'clock. p.m., to 'consider the sale of the $24,000 sewer bonds authorized at an "election held on March 5, 1919, and to transact such other mun- 'icipa.l business as may cone before the Council. ^ ,' �. . '+' alter Hays, secretary of a Committee of Seven, ap- pointed by the Mayor to consider plans for ;x eating a Community Center Memorial to our national defenders, appeared for said com- mittee and presented a .report outlining a plan for moving the Zostess House from Camp Fremont to the City's leased land, the coat to.be paid out of money donated for this purpose by the War Camp Community Service, and further suggesting a method of maintaining and managing the -same as a community club b.000se;. Vail moved that the Council accept and approve the re- port of the Committee of Seven and vote'a grant allowing said building to be placed on the city's leased land. The :notion was seconded by Cathcart and passed by unanimous vote on roll call. On motion of Jordan_ and .Miller a vote of tanks was giv- en the Committee of Seven in appreciation of its efforts. and suc- cess in securing the donation of the building and the appropria- tion. Er. Fitzgerald of the War 0arp-Community Service express- ed the pleasure of the,, 'ational Organization in helping to create a community center here, that would carry on the work in civil life that the organization had done during the war.
