RESOLUTION NO. 4062
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING OPERATION, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS, or
SANTA CLARA HOUSING AUTHORITY IN CITY OF PALO ALTO
UNDER SECTION 23 OF THE UNITED STATES HOUSING=ACT
OF 1937, AS AMENDED
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto by Resolution
No. 3927 urged the Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara County
to establish a County Housing Authority, and
WHEREAS, the Council did on November 21, 1966 and March 6,
1967 reaffirm its Resolution No. 3927, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara County
has adopted a resolution establishing a County Housing Authority
pursuant to the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965 which
added Section 23 to the United States Housing Act of 1937, as
amended (cited as 42 USCA 1421b), authorizing federal financial
assistance in providing a supplementary form of low rent housing
in existing private accommodations,
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE that the Santa Clara County Housing Authority be and
hereby is authorized to operate within the city limits of the
City of Palo Alto pursuant to the United States Housing Act of
1937, as amended by the Housing and Urban Development Act of
1965 (42 USCA 1421b), subject to the following conditions:
(a) That there be established a minimum residence re-
quirement of at least one year within the City of
Palo Alto for applicants to qualify as tenants for
housing within the limits of the City of Palo Alto.
(b) That all rental units operated under the program
shall meet and comply with all Palo Alto Municipal
Code provisions relative to building and health
standards in existence at the time the initial lease
is executed.
