The Council of the City of Palo Alto met at the
o. the ; ayor on this date at 8 p.m.,, with Mayor Cooley presiding.
Preen y : Congdon, Cooley, Henry, Jordan:, Miller, i hoits , Vail,
Wing.
Absent: Ackley, Mosher, Peterson, Roller, Snyder, Swain.

Mayor Cooley reported that he had been in conference
with General Liggett and other officers 'of the War Department
and :mayor James Rolph, Jr., of San Francisco, in reference to
locating a military training camp near Palo Alto, and that he
had pledged the officials and people of Palo Alto to give such
aid. and make such provisions as to community conditions a , the
Tar Department might desire -
On motion of Wing and Jordan the action of the 'Layer
vas approved.
On motion of Jordan and Wing the Council expressed .its
approval of the proposed location of the training camp near Palo
Alto and declared its willingness to give the project all the
aid within its power.
