Mayor Cooley presided. Roll call as follows: Present: Ackley, Congdon, Cooley, Jordan, Miller, Snyder, Swain Thoits. Absent: Henry. Mosher. Peterson, Roller, Vail; Wing. The minutes of the regular meeting of April 9, 1917, and of the adjourned meeting of May 4, 1917, were read and approved as read. Said resolution recites that the Council has received end canvassed the 'returns of the election hcid on May 14, 1917, on the proposition to authorize an indebtedness of r7O.OG4 for the purchase of the property and rights of the Palo Alto Gas Compaanv; and finds that 333 votes were cast at eaid election, of which number of votes 740 votes were in favor of said proposition and 88 votes against.
