The Council of the City of Palo Alto met in regular ses-
sion on this date at 7:30 p.m., with Mayor Cooley presiding. Rc;2

The minutes of the regular meeting of November 13, .*1
and of the called meetings of 7over::be_ 20th and 28, 1916, were
read and approved s.s read.
Reports Received.
A report from. the "Board of Public Works finding that
cost of laying water main and inetallinv a. fire alarm box to fur-
nish fire- protection to the Harker School would be too great to
justify the outlay was accepted and ordered filed.
A report from the Board of Public Safety recommending the
enactment of an ordinance amending Ordinance TM136- was accepted and
ordered filed.
A report from the Board of Public Safety submitting a
resoltatior. passed by said Board declaring the municipal jail to
be unsanitary was accepted and ordered ailed.
A report from. the City Engineer giving an estimate of
$226.00 as tie cost of improving and heating the jail, and esti-
mating the cost of erecting a new jail at S2,500 was accepted and
ordered filed.
